Stopping Breastfeeding

This might have to be it! DC is 4 months at the weekend. So far I've enjoyed breastfeeding, and I never thought I'd make it this far.

But this is now the 4th night in a row DC has only managed to sleep 2 hours at a time (at the most) and I don't think I can hack it anymore. I'm exhausted. Yesterday I kept crying al day!

If I ween onto bottles is there hope that she'll sleep longer? Not sure it's gonna go down well, she's a big fan of my milk!

Help!

It sounds like the 4 month sleep regression. Most babies go through it, regardless of how they're fed - it's to do with them beginning to experience proper sleep cycles rather than the constant deep sleep of a newborn. Obviously if you want to stop breast feeding then you.should - it's totally your choice - but it very well may not change your baby's sleeping. Good luck! The regression is awful, we're going through it too right now.

My FF dd slept through from 4 weeks....

was 4 months last Monday and for the last 6 weeks has been awake every flipping night a lot.,,,

Not sure it's the BF that's your problem

It's not the breast milk, it's the 4-month sleep regression!

I EBFd DD1 and have combi-fed DD2 (at bedtime she has two-thirds formula to one-third expresses breast milk), and they have still both been through it. It will pass!

Thanks for replies. I know you're all right really, I just was a having a hopeful thought at 2am that I could get some sleep. But it's not too be until we pass through this phase!
