I said 'no', but 6 months on I am OK with giving her more freedom, how they grow

I have seen some threads about what you would let your child do at this or that age.

My dd1 walk home on her own yesterday with a school friend in the same class (yr 6) but who is nearly 12 months older.

Her friend wanted her to do it some months ago, but I said 'no'. However this week dd and I were both OK with it.

Just wanted to share that she is gowing up and that setting age limits to do things is so individual don't you think?

I totally agree, it's all down to the individual child and how responsible they are. Two children aged 8, one may act more like a 12 year old and the other act like they are 4. Good on you for trusting your daughter! Mine are years away from that stage just yet!

mumto2girls thanks, she has said next week for one day she will walk home with dd2 so 'she can have a go'.

On the way to school this morning she told me about the route they took and where they crossed the road.

FWIW all in the right (safe) places as we had discussed beforehand.
