Not sure where to put this : second hand shoes

Right just want everyone’s opinions, I picked up a pair of bonus shoes from eBay, the lady stated they had only been worn 6-8 times. We already have a pair of bobux we purchased from the shoe shop a few weeks ago, obviously these aren’t cheap. These are the inside, there is small toe imprints but they don’t feel deep enough to actually feel when I put my hand in and push down. I had purchased them as a second pair, for the likes of playgroup, parties etc. Would oh say these are too imprinted though ? X

Sorry forgot to had, I can feel a slight toe imprint when I run my finger over the shoe but not a major imprint. When I put my whole hand down into the shoe though I can’t feel it x

I guess it depends on whether the seller meant 6-8 times all day, or 6-8 times for 10 minutes each time.

All day wear for several days would probably leave imprints. Do you feel there should be less imprinting for what you paid for them?
You could ask for a refund if you aren't happy?

I'm amazed at how many parents buy second hand shoes - I sell my son's on and they nearly always go! A podiatrist would say never put your child in second hand shoes because they mould to the first child's feet. From your pictures they look like they have really moulded. I wouldn't use them personally. How much did you pay for them?

She had put that the soles were barely marked which I assumed she meant the inside as she had showed the base of the shoe and there were markings which was fair enough if they had been worn outside, So I had thought she meant the inner soles. I paid £17 plus postage as bobux aren’t cheap shoes. We paid £48 for my daughters new ones, just didn’t want to spend another £48 for playwear shoes as this is the only brand that fits her feet correctly. I’m not sure if I can request a refund as it had stated on eBay that no returns were accepted.

This was the description, am I wrong for assuming she meant the inner soles? Have I basically just lost £20 ?

I know they're not cheap as my son wears them! £20 is a lot for a pair of second hand ones that aren't in tip top condition. TBH I would take it up wth her because they are not "barely marked" in my opinion. It looks like the inner writing is coming off too so I would day they've had a bit of wear.

Rbkh · 11/10/2018 14:32

I’ve sent her a message saying I’d like to return them due to the condition, if not my dad said I’d have to open a case with her if she refuses, not something I’ve ever done so I’ve no clue where to start.
I was expecting better for the price, I think I’ll stick to buying directly from their website now and looking out for any sales.

It's easy to open a case. E bay usually come down on the side of the buyer. Good luck xxx

Thank you, have messaged her but she’s just replied that she doesn’t understand what I mean and that she pictured all marks clearly, even though there is definitely not a clear one of the inside of the shoes at all. If I had seen that I’d of never purchased them. I can see this being a long one :|

Open a case x

I buy a lot of second hand shoes for dd, I don't mind a tiny tiny imprint, shoes get like that quickly and so long as my dd has the ability to make her own imprint I don't worry as she wears different shoes so her feet don't have the chance to "mould" to a particular shoe.
Reading the description I imagine when she said sole of the shoe, she mean the outside sole, otherwise would have stated the inner? Most people don't mention the inside or at least state inner and out.

You are most likely going to get your way if you open a case, but probably will be a long one.

Skimbleskanks · 11/10/2018 21:23

From the pictures of the outsides, they are quite scuffed and creased so I think the appearance of the inside is in line with that.

It's unfair to say that she was asking 20 for them when it was an auction; she provided the photos and you bid up to 17 plus 3 postage.

Rbkh · 11/10/2018 21:48

She has agreed to refund. She said she hadn’t realised that it was as worn as she thought they were okay inside. I did explain that for me they were too imprinted and I didn’t think they would be. I assumed everyone stated the inside of shoes as every pair I’ve sold I’ve always stated that there has never been a toe print, which is the only reason I sell them on. If they have imprints they go in the bin.

I had no problem with the scuffs and creases, my daughter has only worn her bobux twice and already they are scuffed and creased due to how rough and tumble she played. The outside wasn’t the issue, it was the toe imprint which I would of thought someone would of mentioned in a description, as I always have.
I also didn’t say she charged £20? I said it was £17 plus postage as the OP had asked how much I paid.
It was genuine error on both parts, in no way am I having a go at her and blaming her, i just assumed by the words saying very light wear that the toe imprint wouldn’t be inside.
