Hi so after 3 years in nursery/school my little girl has finally caught nits. Im a nitty gritty fan so we are already wet combing but i do i need to do anything to toys or bedding ? Also are there any other natural approaches i may want to take i dont feel comfortable applying the strong chemicals to small people? Thanks in advance

Teatree oil may act as a deterrent - you can buy shampoo, conditioner and a spray in detangler. Put hair up or plait.

No need to wash toys / bedding etc as lice can't survive on dead hairs or fabrics just on living hair.

Make it a habit to check DC hair once a month with nitty gritty and conditioner. Using a bit of tea tree oil has apparently been known to work but I don't find I need to use it if I'm checking regularly.

Keep long hair tied firmly up. Two bunches then plaits are perfect. DD had nothing the whole time at Primary as hair tied up. Secondary's another kettle of fish as she's had them twice as hair looser. No itching to find out just me habitually checking monthly so catching them quick.
