How long does/did your 6 week old go between breastfeeds?
How many feeds on average per day?

Every 1.5 - 2 hours for me and still is at nearly 9 weeks.

Even through the night?

Every few mins it seemed, 2 hours perhaps at night. Demanding still to this day!

Yep even through the night, sometimes it went to 3 hours but at the moment I can almost set my watch to him. He does have a long sleep stint from 8-12ish tho I forgot to mention so not completely every 2 hours!

My DD wanted feeding all the time at 6weeks. She is still the same at 8!

Have you access to a breastfeeding clinic? Mine struggled with latch which might or might not have been a factor (probably though she just liked feeding). She fed for ages at a time.

My DS fed for shorter periods of time with bigger gaps, every 2/3 hours or so.

My Dd would feed every hour when awake. However obviously lots of naps so not actually permanently attached. Night feeds were more four hours apart, with some cluster feeds usually at 2/3am feed. I took the lots of feeding through day for more sleep at night.
6 weeks is usually a growth spurt so maybe feeding extra until supply matches demand, after a couple of days.

Aat 6 weeks it was ever 1 and half to 2 hours. However she was sleeping from about 11pm to 7am at that point so she ate a lot in the day as she wasn't taking any at night.

Just at 6 weeks myself and we still don’t have any sort of routine. One day she’ll want feeding every hour and a half, the next she’ll have a marathon sleep in the middle of the day and only want feeding every 4 hours and then suddenly there’ll be a surprise cluster feed! Normally we feed somewhere around 8 - 10 times a day, though some of those are far shorter than others.

I’m not particularly good at routine myself so I’m just going with it at the moment as she’s gaining weight and nappies seem ok.

Mines has never fed less than 15times in day sometimes as much as 20 times.

My LO is nearly 6 weeks and it’s tottsly random..never goes more than two hours though :(

With DD1 I wrote down every feed and timed it all. I remember adding it up at around 6 weeks and I was feeding for more than 8hours of every 24 hr period. Split into between 12 and 15 feeds. It sticks in my mind as some work friends were gobsmacked when I said I fed for longer than they sit at their desks in a day. It was only a phase but even at 6 months she easily had 12 feeds in 24hrs (but got slightly more efficient). A kindly hv told me that’s really normal.

Cherubs Pretty sure DD was similar, similar to what Orange describes above. It was almost constant a lot of the time, although she's always been a good sleeper for her age and would sleep about 11-3ish as her long block at that age, but that would be after almost constant cluster feeding all evening from like 7-11. I think some babies just feed more than others unfortunately, it is tough. DD hardly sleeps in the day either, she just seemed to be constantly feeding at that age, I barely had time to have a quick shower or eat my lunch most days, it was really hard being stuck to the sofa for hour after hour after hour. I watched a lot of Netflix!

Thanks for the replies. I've got an app for tracking feeds average number of feeds 19, time taken 13-16hrs. Wouldn't be so bad if i didn't have a toddler to look after, then I could make good use of Netflix.
