Alternative sticker chart type things?!

I want to start a simple reward chart for my toddler but for reasons unknown he's shit scared of stickers!

One tiny gold star and he runs away screaming in terror- no joke.

Any ideas for an alternative?

Any ideas on how to overcome sticker phobia will also be greatly appreciate Grin

'Treasure' (beads or similar) in a jar? Car driving along a road?

We have a marble jar as suggested on mumsnet, treat when the jar fills up. Works a treat and as an added bonus you can add and remove marbles without then noticing too much.

DS refuses all stickers and reward charts. Rather bizarrely, he became very fond of a set of self inking animal stamps. We used them for potty training. Every time he sat on the potty he took great joy in stamping his legs with various farmyard animals! The health visitor was a little bit Hmmbut she got over herself.

I really like the marble jar idea! Do you think it'll work for a two year old?

I think at present i want a reward system more for an instant prize rather than collecting towards a big treat as I'm not sure he'll understand that concept at the moment.

"You did so well/were very kind/wee'd on toilet/asked nicely etc so you get a (insert sticker replacement)'.

Ooooo! @namechange4000
I didn't think of ink stamps, that's such a good idea.

We have a magnet one for DS from home bargains. Same idea as a sticker chart but magnetic. Would that work?

We have a bag of 'tokens' which are lids from baby food pouches, all different colours.

Both my 4 and 2 year olds have a jar and are given a token for good behavior. My 4 year old gets to choose a treat when her jar is full, the 2 year old's jar is never full because I take tokens out when he isn't looking! He understands the concept of immediate rewards but that's as much as he is interested in it and it works to reinforce good behavior!

Yes @whoami24601, worth a try! I'll have a look at home bargains

Ive done a fairy chart before where i just drew a fairy in place of a sticker...10 fairies = reward. Very low tech but worked ok!
