Headphones concerns

My child has been asking for a headset to listen to music, however I don't know where I stand on this topic. What concerns should I have, and what advantages would this give my child and me. I only want whats best for him, but I feel woefully out of touch with the youth of today, lol.

I should preference this by saying my child is 5 years old, but I do have a friends mum who has a child aged 10, who has voiced similar worries as me.

Thanks for your help, first time posting Smile.

could you get ones like these? they are kid volume safe, meaning he can't damage his ears from playing the music too loud. www.cathkidston.com/new-in-view-all/london-streets-kids-headphones-1025731?ctry=GB&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvd7BuNXq3QIVq73tCh0XtgZ4EAkYBSABEgKEPvD_BwE

As sleepismysuperpower1 said, you can buy childrens headphones which limit volume so that they don't damage hearing. I think it's limited to 85 decibels but I could be wrong. I think parents tend to like their kids using them sometimes as it means we don't have to listen to their music or YouTube videos that are not always that easy on our ears ! Wink My children wanted them at that age because friends had them. Obviously just keep a check on what your child is listening/watching as they are still very young and when they have headphones on it's easy not to notice what they are up to.
