Hi hit me with your potty training tips! My little boy has just turned 2, decided to give potty training a try! Every night we take the nappy off for an hour or 2, get the potty out. I sit on potty do an imaginary wee, I sit child on potty and say ooooh wee wee! Child pisses over Henry hoover, up against kitchen bin and all over my shaggy rug (yes huge mum fail! Defo should be rolled up!) been trying this failing method for 2/3 weeks now! Not had one wee in potty! Should I put this on hold or persevere?

He might just not be ready op, is he showing signs of being ready? In my experience potty training is much easier and faster if the child is ready to do it.

@MrsG010814 I have to admit he's not showing any real obvious signs just taking his nappy off himself! Maybe I should postpone it a month or 2?

@vickyh22 have you tried a reward chart? It worked wonders for us, we used to get our ds1 to get 10 stickers then he would get a reward like a small toy, book or some chocolate. Sometimes they need a bit of an incentive to do it even when they know what to do. If that doesn't work it might be worth stopping for a few weeks then starting again.

@MrsG010814 Thank you! Will try the reward chart! We've just had our 4th wee om the floor so I think the nappy will go back on and will try again next month!
