Primary aged DC starting school in new language

Basically my 6&8yr olds started school a couple of weeks ago after moving country and they don't speak the language. I'm wondering what the best type of tutor would be to get them? The local children speak a traditional language at home and in the playground (my DC don't speak it) and during school they are taught in Arabic (they also don't understand this but can phonetically read and write using the Arabic alphabet). I don't speak either language either so I can't help much.

DH wants to get a tutor who normally teaches English or has a degree in English so they are able to communicate well when teaching them Arabic, however he has been looking at high school teachers which I think would have the wrong method of teaching for young children.

MIL wants someone who knows no English and just teaches them in Arabic, frankly they have this already at school, and it's not the most helpful.

I would like a high school student (16-19yr old) as in my experience they understand well and it's fresh in their minds, they would gain from the experience and I would suggest that they do learning through play (I would be there to help), such as head shoulders knees and toes type rhymes and games in Arabic, plus teaching them various items/ animals etc as personally I find it easier if I can pick out a word from a sentence and work out what they are talking about, so not really anything complex.

What do you think? Has anyone had a tutor for their children and what kind of style did they go for? DH is too busy at teaching them and is rubbish at it tbh as he has only taught teenagers at university level and does not know how to teach younger children, he makes it very complicated. Mil can't reach them as although she is kind, she is also not a great teacher. I think my DC are annoyed at being made to feel they are stupid when in English they were extremely good.
