Hi,

Can you lovely mummies recommend a baby walker please. Tia

Are babywalkers ok again now? When mine were little (about ten years ago) baby walkers weren't recommended because they were implicated in all sorts of accidents where toddlers toppled down the stairs in them, fell against hot radiators and were unable to move away, etc. I think because babies can move so fast in them (if you have hard floors), they can find themselves in danger before you have time to react.

However, maybe the thinking has changed or the technology has improved!

Or just don't put them in walkers at the top of the stairs...

We went for a jumperoo instead as we have carpet. LO loves it!!

No I think they’re still not recommended now. I’m pregnant and haven’t read any good things about them. It is also not recommended to put babies in forced standing positions like that for a long period of time, bad for hips or something (not an expert, just what I have read).

Mines loved a walker, just don't leave them. Unattended or for long periods of time in it and your fine.

A walker is a walker, don't need an expensive one, they don't really get too involved with the toys just want to get about

LoniceraJaponica · 25/09/2018 23:37

No. They aren't recommended these days.

We had a lend of a jumperoo, which was handy for nipping to the loo of putting a wash on etc. Never used for longer than 10 mins because I was paranoid about the hip thing.

I'd stay away from walkers, purely because it seems counter intuitive to buy a baby container in order to keep them safe for short periods of time, and then put wheels on it. I'd need eyes on the back of my head if DD had one.

Are you talking about a walker to put a baby in, or a walker for a baby to push? My DS absolutely adores this baby walker from vtech. He loves playing with the shapes and the spinning flowers. The first photo is the old version that we have, the second is the new version that has just come out.

Again do you mean a push along one or a sit in one?
Push along the vetch one is brilliant. Helped my son when he first started toddling around.
As for sit in ones, I hate them. They're so dangerous. Why force a child to walk before they are ready? And you can tell when they're used as the legs are bent. Should be illegal. Same for jumperoos. Not needed either. Hate them as well

Ladyk79 · 26/09/2018 21:14

Thank you all, will stay clear of the sit in walkers x
