Where to buy clothes for nursery?

DD has just turned 1, and will start nursery 3 days next week. Would like to get her some inexpensive clothes for nursery that I won't mind if they get ruined. Ideally would like leggings, long sleeved tops and some sweatshirts/hoodies that are all plain colours so that I don't have to put my brain in gear when getting her dressed early in morning. Not a massive fan of logos or cartoon characters etc.

Supermarkets are best for cheap and cheerful clothes for nursery, places like asda, Sainsbury, Tesco.

Charity shops?

Supermarkets/Primark or Facebook/eBay bundles.

Cheap and cheerful.

Next do basic leggings for £2.50 each in a range of colours. We find that they wash well and last - would recommend (Tesco do a similar style but Tesco ones are much thinner)

I get DS’s clothes from Asda and primary usually. I dress him in tops and leggings most of the time anyway. So nursery clothes and Home clothes are the same, unless they get stained in which case they’re just for nursery.

I've never bought separate clothes and not had anything ruined, and I big expensive clothes. I think kids clothes should be worn and enjoyed and not kept for best though. If you really want different ones why. It Ebay or charity shops.

Primark, or sainsburys (when they have 20% off clothes)

Hmmalittlefishy · 25/09/2018 14:20

Asda. Or sainsburys. I find the Asda jogging bottoms great and they have done 3 dc. Tops in packs are good too so you can do lots of mix and matching
When your dc is older don't forget you won't want anything complicated for potty training and will need lots of packs of pants.
You'll need so send in a set of spare clothes each day in case they do get dirty
Oh and out nursery is always like an sauna so I tend to go for long sleeve tops rather than jumpers in winter and a good coat (supermarket, mothercare or nutmeg - Morrisons?) for when they are outdoor all the time

DD wore lots of primary and Asda clothes. I’d recommend buying a few winter hats/pairs of gloves/sun hats when the time comes as they always go missing and it can be a pain having to go out on the weekend just to pick up a replacement!

Primark tees around £1.50 and 2 pack of leggings for £2.50 I go regularly and kit dad out for pre school, everything gets trashed at Pre school

randomsabreuse · 25/09/2018 14:27

H&M basics has nice plain things, Primark, supermarkets. Primark and H&M are good for my scrawny child - I can actually get long enough trousers that stay up enough! Had a nasty shock when she came out of nappies and most of her trousers started falling off on pretty well the tightest setting!

dinosaurkisses · 25/09/2018 14:29

Check Gap- they constantly have sales on which bring their good quality leggings and t shirts down to the same kind of price as H&M

HeyMicky · 25/09/2018 14:42

Lidl when they have Lupilu sets in. They often do picks of 2 or 3, they're cheap and wash really well. DD2 is wearing some I bought for DD1 about 3 years ago and they still look ace. Good colours too, not too wishy washy
