Tummy pains and trapped wind in the middle of the night

Hi all,

DS is 5 weeks old and for the last week has woken up for his 2am feed and had really bad tummy pains and trapped wind afterwards. He is in so much discomfort :( it can take up to an hour for us to shift it which normally ends in a big poo. I went dairy free almost exactly as it started which I find odd. He was on Infacol but I've heard it can make gas worse so I didn't give him any yesterday but he still has the pains. Any advice appreciated as hate to see him in so much pain :( we pump his legs and do massage to relieve it but doesn't work that well.

We've used infacol since dd was 2 weeks old due to colic, the whole point of it is to relieve trapped wind. She happily toots and burps away now. So much less pain for her.

Try rubbing (lightly) the right side 100 times, tummy clockwise 100 times and the left side 100 times. Watch if he pulls his legs up if you rub somewhere and rub there more. Use infacol, try tummy time in the morning and evening. I found doing a good winding at previous feed before she starts acting windy works well and obviously a good burping after every feed.

Obviously pump legs during rubs
