Hi,

Just wanted to know if anyone knew of any other baby powder apart form Johnson’s. Iv been getting so many mixed reviews from people about it.
Being heard some really negative story about the baby’s powder. Slightly paranoid to use it now.

Cornflour.

What do you use powder for?

SoyDora · 18/09/2018 21:46

Do you need baby powder? I’ve had 2 children and have never had a need for it.

You're not meant to use talc, because it's got links to ovarian cancer. Inhalation should also be avoided. If you absolutely must use a powder, corn flour would be best. Failing that, just make sure baby is properly dry, and if they're sore under arms get checked by GP for fungal infections.

My midwife said not to use powder as it clumps together. We use bepanthon cream for nappy

Anything cornflour based. I think Lush might do one. Shouldn't really need it though. Towel him off properly and give him a chance to get aired on a towel before dressing. Not sure the long term effects of breathing in the dust from cornflour either.

I have never used baby powder ever mainly due to cancer link. Just dry properly and use massage oil or moisturiser.

I use a little bit of cuticura under my little ones arms and creases in nappy area xx
