Working and cleaning

How do parents work full time and keep on top of their cleaning?! I find no matter how much I tidy/clean it's always on top of me unless it's the holidays (I work in a school). I come home everyday and tidy up whilst cooking but the house just seems a mess again by the time I go to bed. I do have a DP but he's a typical man and will only help when I really really nag or have a melt down especially when it comes to walking the dog. His excuse is he works long hours during the week, which I understand is more than I work but by the time I've finished work, cooked tea, tided up,cleaned and walked the dog I've done the same and more as I do everything at the weekends including the DC after school clubs. Some please help me find a balance.

We both work FT and have a cleaner 3 hours a week. I have zero interest in cleaning, and as my DH doesn’t either and doesn’t want to spend any of his free time on it this is our solution

This is my dilemma too. My husband is great at keeping things tidy but never deep cleans. We're starting the organised Mum method this week, which I hope will work!

We also got a cleaner. All arguments about cleaning have now stopped. Smile

Hmmm I'm on mat leave and tbh I just think sod it, I can't be bothered I'd rather spend my time with my girls. The only way I kind of keep on top is by doing one task a day, be it clean the floor, change the bed etc

Is a cleaner financially viable for you? I work part time and we have a cleaner! Trying to clean whilst entertaining a toddler and doing all the laundry/cooking/tidying bits is draining and unpleasant - so it's worth the luxury of paying someone else to do it, if you can afford to!
