How accident prone is your child?

Just finished my usual data transfer from my phone and discovered that there is not a single summer photo where my 3 year old does not have a scraped knee, elbow, a bump on the head, a scratch on the nose or some other indication of his active lifestyle. Nothing to require medical attention, but constant stream of minor injuries. He is constantly climbing, running, falling etc., with absolutely no regard for danger or heights.

Is it normal frequency? Has anyone's child been the same and grew up to be an accountant and not a professional stunt performer?

This sounds like normal frequency to me. My dd was rather more than that: frequent admissions for concussion, suspected fractures etc etc. It turned out she had hypermobility syndrome. But I'm afraid she is studying physical theatre, which I know sounds like anathema to you.

Extremely accident prone 4yo DD here. Like PP's DC though, she's hypermobile.

My DD also has hyper mobility and is constantly knocking herself, falling over and being generally accident prone.

It’s bizarre to watch. She moves like a string of spaghetti, she’s all over the place, and if there’s any kind of obstacle, she’ll bang into it. Never moves with control, strength or balance, just flops and flails about all the time.

Another hypermobile family here. Only one regularly needs medical attention though. We should have a loyalty NHS card for her.

Mine is 3.5 and tells me she will be a tooth fairy when she's older. She's not hypermobile but is often scraped and bruised. She walked straight into 2 doors in a row in our house the other day. She can fall over from standing still. I asked the nursery about whether the others were the same after signing yet another accident form. They assured me they are all like that

An unusual week but we've had 3 accident forms and a trip to a&e with dd 4.5 this week!

She gets clumsy when she's tired and it's the start of school.

My 7 year old constantly has at least one scrape or bruise. We go through packets of plasters. She's ASD so her clumsiness is partly down to that.

DD1's record was 5 accident forms in 1 week at nursery, amazing considering she only went 3 days.
No hypermobile issues just very clumsy, a little better now at 8yrs but the first day of the new school term and she came home with grazed knees.

DD2 at 3 is a lot more coordinated than her sister but still has at least 1 bruise at any time, usually on legs from climbing things.
