Reusable nappy advice

So I've bought everything I need to actually use reusable nappies with my DD who's now 9 weeks old but crazily I'm not sure how to use them still... it's the basic stuff I need advice on! I have the inserts, disposable liners etc.
Sorry to be dumb but if she wees do I then wash the whole nappy? Just the insert?

Any help/advice would be amazing!
Thanks x

It depends which nappy system you have. If you are on Facebook, the group UK Cloth Nappy Libraries Nappy Matter www.facebook.com/groups/197471257685221/ is full of knowledgeable nappy librarians.

If not, I'm happy to answer any of your questions hereSmile

Depends which type of nappy you've got. We had bumgenius which were great as you plonked the whole lot in the washing machine. Once dry make them back up (put the inserts in) and then back in the nappy bag.

They were gifted but I have some with the label Big Elephant and others with Littles and Bloomz. If this helps? Thanks for your help with the fbk group- I will check this out xx

Those brands sound like pocket Nappies, so yes, the whole thing will need to be washed every time. Basically, if the inside of the waterproof layer is visible, it's a wrap which can be reused several times between washes. If the waterproof layer is covered with a stitched in layer of fabric the it needs washing after every use.
Disposable liners should never be flushed, and are often better for more solid poo.
Regarding laundry, here's a simple guide www.uknappynetwork.org/wash.html
Fitting a reusable nappy is different to a single use one, the back goes lower. If you follow the washing guide link, there's a fitting guide on the website too.

Thank you! I didn't realise there were so many different types but you're right they are the ones to wash each time. I'll carry on researching- thanks again!
