My just 5yo ds has had some movement in his lower two teeth ( not wobbly but a gap appeared ) I have been checking every so often and today i have looked and there are two adult teeth behind!

Has this happened to anyone else? I always thought the milk teeth fell out first ( im mildly freaked out 😧 )

My dc had a whole row like that. She threw her head back to laugh one day and I saw it and screamed!

Apparently it’s quite common if you look online and the dentist was not bothered either. However her teeth have come through higgledy piggledy and she will need braces when she is older.

My ds has the same, dentist said it was called shark teeth (I assume not the proper term lol) and usually the new teeth come forward in the mouth when there is space. Will probably need a brace in teenage years though.

We were advised to feed ds crusty bread and wobble the baby teeth out with some haste. If the baby teeth were still around at the next 6 month checkup they would have been removed. Luckily they were wobbly and one fell out the day after 😄

I had this when I was younger, but at the top, and with all adult teeth. I had to have the ones behind removed when I was about 10.

All my DS's new teeth come in like this- thought it was just us! 😂
Get quite paranoid about trying to clean the back of the old tooth and the front of the new one as the gap isn't huge, dentist advice was to 'persevere'-not overly helpful. I double clean once he has had a go and get him to swish the kids Aquafresh mouthwash round. Seems to do the trick.

Yup, shark teeth! Ds was very proud of his.
