How many nappies do I need and what's better - aplix of nippas?

I was wondering how many cloth nappies I will need to get started with. Also I was wondering if I should go for aplix of nippa - I am not a very practical person so the nippa makes me a bit nervous although I have read that it can give a better fit.

Yes muslins folded like a terry work fine and of course are far less bulky on a tiny baby. You can use nippas on them no probs. In fact nippas stick to pretty much everything.

I´ve got a 6 week old ds and have been using real nappies since he was 3 days old. We have found easypeasy quickdry nappies absolutely fabulous as a newborn nappy, we´ve got mostly nippas but have one popper and dh would love more of them. The popper one is quite cool actually but all the other nappies are closed with nippas and it´s a doddle. I thought they might be hard too but they really aren´t, dh used them happily too and has in fact moaned at me that a couple of my nappies weren´t done up properly a couple of times (!). We use them with ME rikki which is aplix, we have small but next time I would get an extra small just for an extra slim fit.

We have 16 nappies and we have to wash every other day BUT we live in Spain and the nappies are currently drying in a couple of hours outside so I would need more if drying time was much longer. All the conflicting info is really confusing but it comes together really quickly once you start using them.

we have nippas, velcro and popper nappies and definitely both prefer nippas although DH likes poppers too. Velcro has been the least well-fitting
