DS1 (3) is such a typical boy, full of energy and mischief, extremely loud and confident and loves rough play, dinosaurs, cars and sports. His favourite toys though are shopkins, noms, and anything unicorn related. I take him to Thai Boxing and Ballet, just because they are close to us and conveniently and invaluable to burning off his excess energy, though I know it’s an unusual combination. His favourite colour is pink.
Now he is older and opinionated I’m having trouble finding clothes he likes without straight out buying girls clothes. I don’t mind the pink, the unicorn/whatever imagery at all, just I object to the way the frills, bunched sleeves and feminine necklines look on a boy. It doesn’t suit him and I hate that it looks like I’ve just put him in hand me down clothes from his sister or something. At ballet we manage with his normal black leotard and shorts with a tutu skirt over the top and it looks okay, but it’s hard to adapt for his tastes usually and have it still look ok.
Can anyone recommend where I can get boys clothing which has more feminine colours and imagery? He really wants a Skye from paw patrol shirt, or a shopkins shirt as we saw some in Primark recently.
Also, recommendations for blogs/ sources of inspiration from parents with similar minded kids?
