Sling recommendations

Hi all,

I have a wrap to take out and about but it is quite complicated to put on. Baby likes to be held during the day as it is the only way he will settle so looking for an easy yet effective sling/wrap/carrier that I can put on to carry baby around in the house while I do chores etc. Any recommendations please?? TIA!

I like my ergo baby 360 but it's the only carrier I've used other than a stretchy wrap so I don't know how it compares to other carriers.

Most areas have sling librarys/ meets where you can try out a range of different slings to see what you like.

I loved my wrap but also found it a bit of a faff, so bought a ring sling on a whim as came across a good one for about £7. It was great! Especially good for shoving them in quickly, also meant I could perch him on my hip when he got bigger and heavier.

NCT Caboo was fab for us

Have a look on Facebook for your local sling library, they’re a good way to see all the different slings & carriers.

I love my caboo close to me which I use for 6 months then switch to Ergo 360.

Depends on babies age, from 4-10 months I loved my rose and rebellion, it's a buckle sling so really quick and easy to put on.

Once DS got bigger I changed to a (toddler sized) mie tie, with thicker straps as they seem to disturb the weight better. Once you are use to it it's easy enough to put on, just need to be carful not to let the long straps drop on the ground if it's raining.

I have an ergonomy 360, since about 3m. However I first went to a sling library and tried a couple on. See what works best for you and your body type eg I found some to be quite long bodied and I'm quite short etc.

I second rose and rebellion, but for newborn it was the ergo baby aura

We've used a babybjorn for all 6 of ours, no problems, still holding up well.

Caboo lite/nct caboo is great for the first few months (you can pick them up secondhand really reasonably). If they're older, we have a sleepy nico which is brilliant - but, like jeans, different carriers fit different people differently! Worth seeing if you can test one or two from your local sling library before buying as they are quite pricey!

We’ve got a stretchy Boba wrap and an Ergobaby 360.
Prefer the wrap for around the house as it is more enveloping and you can support all of the baby including the head (so can more easily bend when doing chores etc)

Prefer the Ergobaby for walks and errands. It’s v quick to put on and take off and is comfier to wear for longer periods. I find I have to have the stretchy wrap tied quite tight around my waist to get the right support and it’s not so comfortable after an hour or two.

Have you had someone at a library maybe show you how to use the wrap? I’m still wrapping my 15 month old and love the snuggles. I also like my integra buckle carrier for quick ups

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I bought a second hand wrap in the end and it is working well :)
