Thinking of getting Tots Bots bamboozles - any thoughts?

I am having my first baby in October and my local shop has recommended this to me and currently has them in stock. She suggested the Bamboozle Aplix size 1's. They seem to get a lot of good feedback but just thought I would check it out here before I go for it.

Welcome to cloth nappy land I would recommend Bambineo nappies rather than Bamboozles. Still a lovely soft bamboo nappy that fastens with aplix. I just feel that recently the Bamboozles I have been getting in stock are poor quality fabric compared to the Bambineos. The Bambineos are slightly cheaper also.

I have both bambineos and bamboozles, and I find the former best for daytime as they are slimmer under clothes, but I use Bamboozles at night for more absorbency.

I've managed to use size 2 bamboozles on my 7 week old but they're the nippa version so no aplix (am using nappy pins rather than nippas).

They are very absorbant but take a long time to dry.

I'd buy one or two only, you won't know what nappy really suits you and your baby until you've tried them.

That's what we were recommended by our local shop too - we bought six and a couple of wraps in case we didn't like them, and then went back for more when we did!

I actually think they're slim enough for daytime, myself, but that's just a question of personal choice - we certainly haven't had any problems with clothes fitting over them.

They do take a while to dry - we ended up with fifteen, and have never run out as a result.

Bambineos here too. There have been some issues with people having bamboozles falling apart and going bald recently

Bamboozles are getting poor feedback at the moment, both on their durability and Tots Bots customer service. I haven't had cause to deal with them, but comments on other forums would lead me to avoid them, and plump for Bambineos or babeco ones.

i second flame and sbum, i sent all mine back ecause of this and will be sticking to bambenios only as there just as good and cheaper! Also i thought they were made in UK but not anymore - saying that idont know where bambineos are made - i so happy to be back

Turkey I think

I got a few bamboozles and a few bambineo's size 1 (along with loads of other stuff - highly recommend the ella's house hemp for newborns btw) and prefer the bambineos altho the cut is quite high and takes a bit of getting used to. you can use with or without the booster so more flexible and they are cuter and fluffier - mmm - lovely and soft

peachygirl · 07/06/2007 21:09

Wow this is great I had been thinking of trying bamboo nappies too

NormaStanleyFletcher · 07/06/2007 21:17

I had bamboozles and loved them (nippa version). I haven't had any problem with the fabric or anything - apart from the fact I think they shrank, and now are quite small, and so between a size 0 and size 1. If you want to try a couple I am looking to sell them as DD has grown out of them.

kateyp · 07/06/2007 22:09

Love our bamboozles. But not tried the bambineo to be fair!

maveta · 08/06/2007 07:00

i was totally sold on bamboozles before having my lo but ordered 1 to try and then when i heard about bambineo´s i picked up a couple of them too. i prefer the bambineo´s by miles, i´ve only used the bamboozle a few times so far (he´s 6 weeks old) and always at night although it might get used more as he gets bigger (and he wasn´t a teeny baby at 8lbs 1oz although he is long and skinny which might make a difference). no complaints about them really, absorbency seems fine and drying time similar but i rate slimness highly and on that countbambineo´s win hands down.

Thanks for all the feedback. Where can I find more info on Bambineos so I can check them out too?
