Fussy eater

My 8 month old baby is a really fussy eater. I've tried her with lots of different veggies and fruits. She just refuses to eat anything, and constantly just wants to feed on my breast still.

She wakes 3 times in the night for feeds still, I'm sure this is because she is not eating enough solids during the day.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

At 8 months breast milk still provides far more calories and nutrients than solids would - there's a saying that 'food before one is just for fun'. At 8 months babies are exploring textures and flavours and learning to chew and swallow.

I very much doubt that lack of solids is what's waking your DD at night. Could you try encouraging her to feed more during the day? Or she may be teething or feeding for comfort.

Easier said than done, but try to relax. At 8 months your DD can eat pretty much anything (no honey, no whole nuts and nothing too salty). Could you let her feed herself? Just place pieces of food in front of her and let her experiment - toast fingers, scrambled egg, soup and bread, yoghurt, fruit wedges, hummus and pitta etc.

My daughter is 8 months and also still likes to breastfeed a lot and still.wakes a few times a night! She is doing pretty well with food but still not eating loads and some days hardly anything but think that is due to teething. As she went off food for a week or so before her first 2 teeth came through the other week. She doesn't seem to wake more when she doesn't eat a lot of food as think she just has more milk instead.
Just offer lots of different finger foods. Some days my dd will just not have puree at all but will mess about with bits of food I give her.
My eldest dd was a fussier eater and I found weaning hard with her but she just had more milk.
