10 month old DC has been a little run down with a cold and hasn't slept well the past week but today DC has screamed for coming up 2 hours solid.

I'm at a total loss as to what to do.

They've eaten so aren't hungry. Have a clean nappy. Don't want held, don't want to be put down. Have had pain meds for cold. Have had teething gel. Have had a drink. Aren't too hot nor cold.

I'm ready to lose my cool and ask DP to come home from work. I'm done.

What else can I do/check?

You poor thing. Could you try a distraction? Like a warm bath or a walk? Hope little one settles soon

Screaming for 2 hours needs to checked out by a GP.

Distraction might be a good idea. Maybe a movie or some cartoons. Moana always works for my son.

I cant get a GP appointment 😩

DC has eventually crashed out and I think I'm gonna miss out the chores today and follow suit.

I just don't know how to help 😔 feel like a terrible mother.

I was actually going to post to say nap. When my DC have been under the weather they always seem to want extra sleep so perhaps sleep is what they wanted. Hope they feel a bit perkier on waking.

EyeDrops · 29/08/2018 12:29

I was going to suggest getting out of the house in the hopes of distraction & fresh air tiring them out - glad they've dropped off though. Have a good nap yourself and hope they're happier waking up!

Overtired? Try white noise or walk in pram.

OnNaturesCourse · 29/08/2018 13:42

DC sleep pattern has gone right out the window lately, and she's seriously fighting sleep so overtired could be a cause.

Its hard to think straight on little sleep and with hours of screaming.

Might be worth a trip to a walk in clinic to check ears - my little girl was prone to ear infections after colds and they were normally accompanied by much screaming.
