Any help would be good!

My nappie requirments are

  1. absorbence
  2. slim line
  3. drying time

I have been advised by people to use
motherease (these look a bit big but will try these at some point)
Totbots - Bamboo ones
Totbots - the white terrys

with Motherease Rikki wraps, but would be intrested so see hat you ladies think and if these will meet my needs - Thank you

I think airflow wraps are better than rikki as the poppers are harder to undo.

instead of tots bots bamboo you could try bambineo as they are in my opinion better but cheaper - if you google me you can see them online there. Motherease ricki wraps are good for a new born as containment is really god, i also like the tots puls and have had no probs withthe new ones, however im not a massive 2 part user so people who are may better advise. They even held in my son who was a power pooer - we hardly used our medium airflow as we went onto pockets quite swiftly so it is for sale if you want to make an offer!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 06/06/2007 13:26

Thanks ladys, so pre wash them 3 times on a 40 Non bio!

Nappy Zone , how much would you want for your wraps??
Also are the Bambino the ones you have to put the extra fold of cloth in??

pinkranger, no nappyzone means bambineo (formerly wambamboos) - bambino mio are the ones you're thinking of. I don't think anyone's said not to use fabric softener on nappies or wraps either
Have a look at kiwi quick flips too, they suit your requirements, I think (haven't got my hands on one yet thought!) - available from flame's site bumfluff. There's been a recent thread about them. Having just started with cloth (when ds2 was about 8 weeks, he's 6 months now) I'd definitely say don't buy all of one type of nappy or wrap to start with, because you're not going to know what suits your baby or you until you've been using them a while. You could think about buying 2nd hand via Nappy Lady or a trial site like kittykins where you get 70percent back if you don't like them. Or even a nappy library if there's a Real Nappy Network near you.

Without wishing to tread on Nappyzone's toes, I've got 2 x Rikki and 2 x Airflow in small size that you can have for free if you like. They're too small for my dd now and I don't intend having any more babies and I can't be arsed trying to sell them.

nappyzone · 06/06/2007 15:58

Hey take the free - frees always best!!! I ment bambineo as in the bamboo shaped nappy that you use with a wrap not bamb mio thingys you use with a prefold in. You are best trying a variety of nappies - come visit me and we can put together a nice little trial of bits and bobs if you like.... Bambineo do a trial kit with 3 bambineos and a wrap, instructions and paper etc..., ther on my site if you care to see what i mean. Happy Fluff shopping

mistlethrush · 06/06/2007 16:16

I agree with Accessorize - 'renting' a box of lots of different types of nappies and wraps was the best thing we did - we ended up with quite a few prefolds with a more limited number of shaped (for going out when its not necessarily as easy to stop and change and a little more containment might be helpful) - this was seriously less expensive than all shaped and they also dried more quickly. Also different wraps fit different shapes better - we have found Nature Babies wraps great, and the poppers are more difficult for older babies to undo.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 06/06/2007 17:02

Manictigger - the free ones would be fantastic - Thank you ever so much , have decided to get a few of each different stuff so i can get along with the best ones - please email me at

Try this address

[email protected]

it's one I keep for if I'm posting my email on a public site because then if I get nuisance mail (paranoid, moi?) I don't have to change my normal email address and notify friends etc.

Manictigger · 07/06/2007 16:24

Actually, it might be [email protected], I don't know if aol is case-sensitive or not, I imagine it prob is.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 07/06/2007 16:37

thank you , have just emailed you at both addresses!

For a slim quick drying nappy then the motherease one size is good, as are Nature Babies Micro Diddy Diapers. Pocket nappies are also quite slim and dry quicly as they can be taken apart. The quick flip as someone has mentioned as slim and made specifically to be a quick drying nappy. If yu want a quick drying nappy then stay away from bamboo and cotton tots are a great all purpose nappy but quite bulky, hope that helps a little

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 12/06/2007 09:46

Manictiger - Thank you very much for the wraps they arrived this morning.
They are great
