Scared of potty

Hi everyone, i wonder if anyone can help with some tips for my 2.5year old daughter.
She normally will tell you if she has done a poo and occasionally a wee. Can tell when she has done a big wee overnight. Etc
Thought I would buy a potty, leave it out, let her sit on it clothed etc but she is terrified of it. The idea of sitting on it to do a wee sends her scared and worried.
She is anxious about new things e.g. a new coat or pair of shoes can send her into a melt down.
She is just petrified of the potty and I don't know where to go from here. She is very tall for her age so I think it's not helping me thinking what people think of her being older and still not potty trained (In 4 to 5 clothes)
Any tips please? Friends little one same age goes on potty so I let her watch, put her teddy on there, I even sat on there lol. She starts play school end of September.
Thanks all x

My tall boy didn't like normal potty at all, we got this and it was an instant hit

How about having a nappy opened up on a potty- so you are peeing/poo-ing in a nappy but on a potty.

Mine was the same so I abandoned. She was 3years 3months old when she showed an interest in the loo of her own accord. So I got an insert seat for the toilet and she happily sat on it. But wouldn't produce anything. That seemed to make her nervous but at least she wasn't upset. Then a month later she did her first wee on there and I immediately got rid of the nappies and we toilet trained using the book 'oh crap, it's potty training'. I realise this might not help if she needs to be trained for preschool but if it's not necessary I would put it off until she is ready/less distressed. Another sign for me was she started pretending her dolls were weeing on the toilet so it seemed she was processing the idea. If it helps leaving it later did mean it was very quick for us. Good luck!

Put it away until she’s a bit older and then have another go. It’s not worth forcing it

Ok will leave it another few months thank you. The pre school do take them in nappies x
