Nursery undoing potty training successes

Hi, just wondered if anybody has had problems with nurseries not seeming to make the effort to focus on child's potty training. ds (2.7)started potty training two weeks ago, no accidents at home or if we're out - even managed a trip in car to Ikea, lunch and dragged around looking at Flarks for an hour and then home, obviously i kept on checking him and he said no to a wee for the entire trip. Got home and asked for a wee!! so obviously has grapsed concept and has bladder control. He goes to nursery and comes home having four or five accidents. I've explained that he seems a bit upset by having wet trousers and could they keep a close eye on him for the next week. Yet again he's come home with a bag full of wet clothes.

AIBU to expect a bit more from his time at nursery - it's a very small one with only a couple of children in his group out of nappies.

I've asked them to keep a close eye on him as he seems a bit upset by having wet trousers but for the second week he's come home with five bags of wet clothing.

My DS does 2 mornings a week at nursery (term time only).

He came out of nappies about 9 days ago ( 2 days of accidents then 7 dry) and today was his first day at nursery out of nappies.

When we arrived and I told them he was out of nappies they asked me lots of questions to make sure that they followed the routine/approach he was used to which I thought was great eg. potty or toilet? does he know when to go or do we need to prompt every half hour?

He was there for 4 hours and was dry when I picked him up -in fact he didn't do anything on the toilet until I turned up, only sat on it 3 times.

I think they have regular times when they prompt the toilet/potty using children in case they need to go

ds2 (nearly 3) was potty trained about 6 months before starting nursery, yet almost every time i picked him up from nursery i was given a set of wet clothes because he'd had an accident. Nearly every day.
I told the nursery staff he didn't have accidents at home (which was the truth) but i don't think they believed me.

That's ringing alarm bells for me as I certainly didn't have a converstaion like that! I explained he was out of nappies and they asked if he had any with him, seemed more nervous than me!

My xp who collects him for me when I'm at work did say ds was asking for a wee at hometime but the staff didn't pick up on it, and ds has accident in front of them all. I did ask why xp didn't do anything to get him to a toilet but that another thread ...

Maybe you should have a word with them. They're obviously not noticing when he needs to go. You should tell them what his warning signs are (willy holding etc) and make sure they ask if he needs the loo regularly.

Have spoken to them once, I'll give it another go and then if still no change I'll wonder what else they aren't paying much attention to
