Best toys for two year old?

My daughter will be 2 soon and I want to buy her some really good toys that will encourage imagination and independent play.

I enjoy playing with her but she loses interest and I am still trying to find a toy which engages her for a while. I know she’s still young but any suggestions?

My 2 year old loves her little 'In The Night Garden' character figures. She is obsessed with the program and carrie's her little characters all day making them kiss and feeds them etc. She plays with her sister''s Happy Land house and castle but always with her little figures and uses her imagination to make up little games with them

Aquadoodle mats are fantastic. My niece loves her and it came with stamps etc which keeps her occupied for a while. Also no mess while still encouraging creativity x

Vehicles especially a train track? If you get a wooden one they are easy to put together and take apart and most different brands fit together. They are cheap as well and you can add electric trains. Cars, buses etc and a ramp/garage.

Play kitchen, food, shopping till and trolley. Baby doll and buggy.

To encourage imaginative play you basically need things that replicate the world they see around them every day, cooking, driving, getting baby dressed etc.

DS loves brio trains.

Happyland from Early Learning Centre is fab.

Agree re Happyland. DD got this for her 2nd birthday and loves it (though I’m sure I got it for cheaper than this!)

She’s recently been given a 2nd hand toy kitchen which she loves playing with along with plastic plates and toy food

Toy kitchen and food, pans etc. My daughter is now three and a half and it gets played with more than anything else. The IKEA one is terrific
