Food for baby whilst on hol.

Morning all!
Just booked a last minute couple of nights away. My question is, I don’t know what to do about baby food?! Little one has CMPA and GERD so had to take weaning very slowly. Been advised to not give processed food as he had an allergic reaction last weekend (to be honest I cook all his fruit, meat and veg anyway then freeze and defrost when needed). I’m wondering how to take his food though as it’ll defrost on the way? We can’t get into the accommodation till later on. I don’t want to risk jars/pouches in case he has a reaction.
I know I sound stupid but I’m just unsure on how to take his food. I don’t want to spend my time cooking all his veg on holiday but if I have to I will.
Thank you all for your wise words!

how old is baby? i would not be too bothered if your just starting weaning and just take milk and maybe a mesh self feeder and put soft fruits in it.

My friends baby son had CMPA and if she needs to get pouches, she gets Ella's Kitchen. She said that they don't add anything extra and it's just the veg, like carrots for example mixed with water.

Sorry I should have said! He’s seven months old and having three meals daily, he loves his food and is doing really well. I’ve noticed a massive difference regarding sickness and he seems happier too. Started weaning 2 months ago, started early due to his reflux.

He had a Hipp pouch a while back, carrots peas and something else. He pulled a face so I tried it and it was absolutely foul!
Can you get pouches in just single flavors? To be honest I haven’t looked as I’ve been happily making him everything.

Yeah you can get all single fruit and veggies and you can get all the pouches individually from Tesco/Asda etc. My friend says her son has had no reaction from any he's eaten. Smile

I had a DD with CMPA and GERD. She also couldn't have wheat, egg or soya. I used Ella's kitchen pouches if we were out and found them clearly labelled.

That’s fantastic thank you so much! Feeling a lot more at ease now Smile I’ve actually just had a quick look and there’s a few combination flavours that he’s already had so that’s good. Do they store in the fridge for a couple of days once opened? He has his medication mixed with pear, he wouldn’t need a full pear pouch though, just a couple of spoons.

The Ellas kitchen pouches are good, you could also take a fresh cucumber, banana, apples and give him bits to pick at. What is GERD? My niece has CMPA, allergies to nuts and egg too. They eat at zizzis quite a bit as there is a pasta dish there she can have.

myotherbagisgucci · 24/08/2018 11:33

They last 48hrs after opening, but they need to be refrigerated once opened.

Also try Aldis ones too- same principle, a lot cheaper- but less choice

Smellybears · 24/08/2018 11:54

Aldi are organic too I think so might have a nosey in there.
GERD is basically severe reflux. His specialist at his last appointment said she’s hoping to start reducing his medication in the next couple of months.
Everyone you’ve really been a great help, I love this site so much. Thank you all! Flowers
