Am I doing the wrong thing?

Hello, this might be silly but I'm going to ask anyway. When I take my dd (7 months) out in her pram for naps, she sometimes starts to cry and rub her eyes due to being tired. It sounds more like a shouty/I'm tired but can't sleep cry than a distressed cry so I don't pick her up (but rock pram with hand on belly, talk to her etc). She often has her eyes closed but can be loud. I always pick her up if cry escalates and give up on pram nap. Does that sound right or should I pick her up earlier? Maybe I am just worried what people might think.

I don’t believe in leaving them to cry but I think you are doing the right thing. You are responding to her cries, you are not ignoring them. That can be talking, singing, patting, rocking - whatever that lets her know you are there and she is safe.

Mine was always very vocal before going to sleep. I just let him get on with it unless he was actually distressed.

Sounds fine to me!

I think you are doing the right thing, she's crying because she's tired by the sounds of it x

My baby often cries just before sleep and then suddenly he's gone.

I don't think you're letting them cry if its fairly brief

I always leave my LO to cry, same as you if she gets hysterical i obviously pick her up, but in that case i would just rock pushchair to help her fall asleep.

I know whih cries are tired/hungry or genuinely upset and respond accordingly
