Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has a breathable bumper for the cot and if anyone could recommend them? Anyone had any issues with them? Thanks in advance!x

Never been sure about the purpose of a bumper really. They are considered to be significant SIDS risks.

I've taken my normal bumper off just concerned as my LO is a right wriggler and worried about her arm getting caught in the gaps of the cot x

I only put a bumper on my DS when he went into his bed cot to stop him bring so nosey so he could sleep, but he was able to sit up, roll over, stand up, so I was confident enough to use. I didn't and wouldn't have used anything before my DS could do all these. I had never heard of breathable ones, but probably still wouldn't have used one in a crib.

I don’t use a bumper. I figure getting an arm stuck in the bars is less of a problem than dying from SIDS.

I have a breathable bumper as my son has dislocated his shoulder twice getting stuck in cot bars. A doctor said they aren't allowed to recommend bumpers but if it continued to happen it could cause lasting damage.

I spent ages searching as did not want anything with ties, layered or that could be stood on to climb out.

I found some which are very flimsy and collapse the minute any weight is put on them. Only Velcro attached so no risk of ties and are extremely holey ie breathable.

I'm not going to lie they make me nervous but I couldn't do nothing whilst my son kept getting hurt.

Prepared to be shouted at as trust me I hate that bumpers are legal in the cushioned tie fashion.

We have this as DS likes to lift his legs in the air as her them catcher between the bars!

I used an airwrap breathable for bumper. Velcro, can't climb on them and of course breathable. I always recommend them.

Thank you for all your comments. Obviously I would rather her get an arm stuck than SIDS but heard lots of good things about the breathable ones!

That was the one I was looking at on amazon! Thank you very much xx

@Deanie30 ikea does a bumper that has a base that the mattress sits in (hope that makes sense!) so much safer as nothing for baby to get stuck under! Was really cheap too
