URGENT- please help re: lump on gums

I'm really worried
I can feel a big lump (hard) on the back of my 9 month's old gum
right at the back on the left hand side
It's basically where your maybe find a wisdom teeth coming through?

I only found it yesterday just because she put a toy in her mouth so gripped it out with my fingers, knew straight away it didn't feel right as there wasn't anything on her right side!

I've done a a mad google search can't find if it's related to teething? It seems to show adults with cysts on guns and something about Epstein pearls that are white?

The only thing is I can't have a look as it's right at the back, tried to prise her mouth open much to her dislike but she won't have any of it obviously! I can only feel it and does feel big

Also, she's been extra fussy today and wanted stuff in her mouth only cool stuff
So it could be bothering her
Any one have any idea what it is? And what I can do Thanks so much

Register her with your dentist and get them to take a look.

Erm I may be a bit thick here, but what makes you think it isn’t just a tooth coming through?

Isabella26xx · 22/08/2018 19:56

@CurlyhairedAssassin
It could be but it just feels huge!! I hope it is just that but can they get the molars through at this stage? I'm not sure with it all

All sorts of weird things can happen with teeth, I thought. Maybe itms coming through very early and it feels huge as her jaw is still so little. You must remember how massive the top front teeth seem when they come through. They kind of grow into it.

LethalLola · 22/08/2018 20:05

My one year old is just getting her molars through and they look enormous! Check in a day or two and see if the tip has broken through?

Caravansandfestivals · 22/08/2018 20:17

My daughter used to get these just before cutting teeth. Checked with the dentist and they're called "eruption cysts" apparently. They disappear once the tooth is through so try not to worry!

@Caravansandfestivals

Omg thanks so much! That saves me from having to rush to ask the dentist or take her to the GP I never knew

Are they painful? What can I do to relive it? Just feels massive

I’m sure if there was an infection or something she would have quite a fever so maybe check her temp to help put your mind at rest. If she was in real terrible pain she would be inconsolable and not able to eat I would have thought, is that the case?

I’m not medically qualified in any way, just rememberijg back to my two teething.

Isabella26xx · 22/08/2018 22:05

@CurlyhairedAssassin

That's a big relief ! She's actually been eating more if I'm honest!! Seems very hungry and every time I'm eating while want to grab and put in her mouth! She's also beeen having her bottle with no prob

I guess I got paranoid cos google came back with cancerous cysts' good old google lol thanks so much
