Cant see another thread on this.

Up to now I've been able to distract her with toy but now she flips over onto front as soon as I lay her on back (unless she's sleepy). Usually a problem when she does a poo when very much awake!!
Have resorted to changing her on the floor as changing table an accident waiting to happen.

Any tips appreciated pls.

Such a problem! my 7.5 month old has a passion for the bathroom light switch, which is a wooden bead on a string. So I hung a wooden curtain ring and a couple of other things over the changing mat. Provided I get on with it, for a short while he is focused on trying to grab them.

I've seen other children looking at books on the changing mat but I don't think mine would do that yet - he'd throw them over and try to follow them i think.

'fraid I always keep a small tub of raisins near by and ds gets them nearly every time he's on the mat (maybe 6-8 per change so not many). I place them on his tummy and he 'hunts' for them with his fingers. We also change on the floor and I keep a selection of toys around him...we play 'where is X' game where we can't see the duck (for example) and my eyes exaggeratingly search for it round the room and then a sly, knowing smiles spreads on my face and the anticipation of where it could be sets him off in hysterics! Not very well explained, but you just need to capture their attention with something, also singing Balamory or BigCookLittleCook theme tunes help.. it does get easier once they start to use their hands though (thinking nearer 9-10mo) HTH

My littlin is almost 8 months and also in cloth. Touch wood, he's still an ace at staying still. Try finding the biggest ugliest pair of mirrored sun glasses, funny hat, alice band with springy antenae etc etc. Apart from entertaining the rest of the house hold, it should keep her interested enough until the jobs done.

Ta all
Am back on the changing table as she seems to roll more on floor.
Actually last 2 days shes been quite good about changes but I resorted to putting her dummy in and giving her a chocolate wrapper (she always wants it) or paper and never letting her play with them elsewhere. Also take her nappy off if just a wet one sitting on knee. sometimes I put the wrap on sitting up too.
