MUM, MUM, MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMM - it's driving me nuts

I am trying to teach my toddlers to not holler for me every 2 minutes. As soon as I rest my weary butt elsewhere they start up. If I don't reply immediately the hollering gets more and more frantic. I am trying to make them understand that if it's not an emergency then to come and seek me out instead of the constant bloody hollering ...................... they have no clue as to the concept of I'll be there in a minute either.

There - rant over

LOL at 'I am trying to make them understand that if it's not an emergency then to come and seek me out instead of the constant bloody hollering'

I tried this with DS1 in the garden the other day -

Me: 'DS1, don't call mummy unless it's important - I'm trying to cook dinner' (go back to kitchen)
DS1 'Mum, mum, MUUUUUUUUMY'
Me: 'whats wrong?'
DS1: 'look at that woodlouse, on the leaf!'

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

Snort! Mine too are fascinated by woodlice. I hate the damn things but I overcome my irrational fears for the sake of the kids - and where has it got me??? They now collect woodlice and put them in the doll's house so they can have their own wee home!

My daughter loves woodlice too. I think it must be a universal thing. I think most kids go through a phase of constantly saying the Mum, Mum, Mum thing before you even have a chance to put a sentence together in response or breath.
