MAM anti colic bottles question

Does anyone know if you can cool down the MAM anti colic bottles? Someone told me you can't due to the air holes but I'm wondering what I can do if out & about & i need to cool down a bottle?
Can't use ready made cartons as they don't do C&G comfort in cartons. Confused

We have cooled them in water before without issue.
However, I batch make my DS's milk, leave it to cool on the the side, the refrigerate and warm in the microwave as needed. DS has been on several different milks (he had a prolonged hospital stay and needed different types) from birth without any issue.

I put mine in a bowl of water the other day and they soaked the water up. Now I just put the boiled water in the bottles ready for the day out and add in milk when needed throughout the day. I did this with my first born and he's totally fine or straight after she's finished a bottle I make a new one with boiling water and put it back in my bag. When she's ready for the next feed it's cooled x I'm also using comfort and it's a right pain that they don't do the cartons!

The boiling water needs to hit the powder to kill the bacteria in the milk. Don’t let water cook and then add milk. We don’t use these bottles for the reason they can’t be cooled.

Make us the milk by adding half hot boiled water and then half premeasured cool water.

ladymcd · 18/08/2018 07:07

You can cool them down / heat them up, you just need to unscrew the teat section before standing in water.

BunloafAndCrumpets · 18/08/2018 07:08

Can you take the water out in a bottle / container without holes, cool the milk in that and transfer?

Hoosey · 18/08/2018 07:10

As ladymcd said if you remove the teat it breaks the air lock and it won’t suck up water anymore.

TheresALight · 18/08/2018 07:18

I've used these bottles for 2 babies and never seen them suck up water when being cooled or warmed up in a bowl of water.

Mummygoogler · 18/08/2018 08:15

If you look at the preparation instructions for the comfort milk it actually advises water to be left for 30 mins after boiling beforE thE milk is added.

stripeytshirt77 · 18/08/2018 09:31

The water still needs to be above 70 degrees c though. Any cooler and it’s a risk.

Tinks15 · 18/08/2018 09:52

Thanks all by the sounds of it then as long as I take the teat section off I can sit the bottle in water to cool down.
