What happens when you tickle him ?

littlestrawby · 16/08/2018 11:34

have you tried doing something silly over and over again...my DD didn't start laughing at things immediately, I would do something 5 times in a row before she found it funny as I could build the anticipation of it up! She is also very contrary and looks at me stony faced while I do my best hilarious performances and other times bursts out laughing while I am doing something very mundane Grin. Maybe try something like 'round and round the garden,' thats a good one for building up the suspense and ending it with a good old tickle!

ana18 · 16/08/2018 12:15

Yes I've tried tickling I just get a smile but no laughing and I've tried doing silly things she just looks at me then smiles . When should babies start laughing my friends babies seem to be laughing non stop I'm worried I'm doing something wrong or something is wrong with her

My DS is 10 months and only ever laughs at the dog despite my best attempts.

HollowTalk · 16/08/2018 12:18

She's obviously aware of you and aware of funny things in that she meets your eyes and smiles. I'm sure it'll come but if you're worried about anything, your health visitor will be able to reassure you.

SilverBirchTree · 16/08/2018 12:18

Don't worry, it's all normal.

TheVanguardSix · 16/08/2018 12:23

DC3 wasn’t a laugher. Very sweet with a gentle smile but not a giggler. He’d have made Management in Boss Baby. Grin

He’s 4 now and a proper joker with the craziest laugh! He is a total giggler, always mucking around like a comedian. Give it time. Smile

Elbbob · 16/08/2018 12:23

Is it a boy or girl? Different in both your posts

Anyway my baby girl first laughed when we first lay on the bed and played aeroplanes with her. But once we have done something once we have to work hard to get her to laugh again, usually making ridulous noises and faces.
Don't worry your baby will laugh eventually.

Lweji · 16/08/2018 12:24

You clearly have to try this:

Grin

I don't think laughing is a milestone, not like smiling.
One day you'll find what tickles him.

When I was a baby I was apparently a solemn child. The first time I laughed was when I was sitting at the bottom of the stairs waiting for my sister, and she fell down the stairs. My mum said I laughed controllably!!

enbh · 16/08/2018 12:25

My DD is 5 months on Sunday and has only ever laughed a handful of times, no matter what we do she only giggles when she wants to, and can go ages before she does it again!

Lightsonthewater · 16/08/2018 12:25

^uncontrollably

Family121 · 16/08/2018 12:26

my son was in giggles at 5 weeks and my nephew never laugh till around 8 months, there all different nothing to worry over , try blowing raspberries on his feet and tummy, that did the trick for my nephew x

Takfujimoto · 16/08/2018 12:28

All of my children's first laugh was when I pretended to hurt myself, sounds weirder than it was.

Just get a teddy bear and have it pretend to attack you, they'll either laugh or cry.

My youngest always laughs when my middle one cries 😂 which then sets us all off and quickly cheers up the middle DC.

FrozenMargarita17 · 16/08/2018 12:32

My dd didn't laugh at anything but the dog and that wasn't until she was about 8 months?

ana18 · 16/08/2018 13:03
