Hi - my 15m old has has this rash gradually progressing from Friday. No exposure to anything new food or washing powder etc. No temps and in good form. What is it likely to be?!

Chicken pox ?

Nurse15 · 12/08/2018 11:21

I didn't think it would be chicken pox without a temperature or her being in foul form!! Could well be though

Are any of them blistering?

Doesnt look like chicken pox to me. Looks like a viral type rash.

SnowWhite33 · 12/08/2018 13:12

Viral rash, i would say.
my daughter just had one of those. Also no fever. Started on tummy and back then progressed to legs, arms and face over a course of a few days. Then slowly started fading but it took almost 2 weeks to completely disappear. We took her to GP to have a look, just in case but they just said to wait it out.

No sign of any blistering. I thought viral myself, just strange she has no temps or anything! Confused!

How lo ago did he have his immunisations? I say this because a month after dd had hers, she came out with pretty much the same rash and the dr said it was a delayed reaction to the measles vaccine.

long she useless phone!

My son had a very similar rash on Thursday, no temp and was well in himself, we're now full of cold with me actually being worse than lo. I'd say viral but get it checked out if you're at all worried. x

something viral I'd say. My youngest had this, by the end of the day it was a fabulous rash but started like that, got redder, more livid and lacy looking under the skin, creeping down his legs and arms.

We went to the GP because I feared it might be something measle-ish although he had been vaccinated and didn't seem to be that ill

GP agreed it was a splendid rash and an exceptionally rashy case of slapped cheek/fifths and the cheeks started glowing within a couple of days!

I think ds2 is really good at rashes, he's done this a couple of times with odd viral things!

Thanks to a shoddy health service in Northern Ireland she isn't yet vaccinated for her 1 year ones. Still awaiting an appointment for same. Never thought of measles though. Whoops!
