So my 4 year old was getting a hit if cabin fever and i was sick of ceebeebies so decided to take her amd my 3 week old to soft play (its rainy here today) . Once we got there tho i started to panic about germs, it was packed, so we left after 15 minutes xx now i am totally freaking out about what my 3 week old may have caught in that time, airborne viruses etc.

Question is... Do/did you take your newborn out before 6 weeks? Infeel so careless x maybe a bit of baby blues today though

Love

You sound like a lovely mummy, OP. Your baby will be fine, enjoy yourself out and about! Flowers

Yes, both mine were taken out from day 1. DD2 was at a toddler group at 24 hours old! The only place I worried about germs was when I was readmitted to hospital a week after she was born with sepsis and she came with me as she was breastfed.

Of course absolutely fine to be out and about but please don’t forget to look after yourself first and foremost. Easy to forget when you’re all about balancing the needs of your little ones. These first weeks are precious with your new born and it’s so important that you don’t burn yourself out. Your 4yo won’t suffer for having some downtime so don’t give yourself a hard time for not giving her a full holiday programme!

My DS came shopping with me and DH on the way home from the hospital where he was born as I'd planned to breast feed and hadn't bought any bottles or teats.

6 weeks is for kittens! (Until they get their injections).

Your child is not a kitten, they're a human, it's OK :)

You're doing the absolute best thing you can do for your baby's immune system already, and that's breastfeeding them.

Going out is absolutely fine.
