Breastfeeding- something on lip?

Been breastfeeding my LO (13 days old) had some issues with latch and tongue tie but hopefully sorted now. Anyways today after I've been feeding him he now has something on his lip that looks a bi5 like a blister, doesn't seem to be bothering him but just wondered if this is normal? Also does it tell anything about the latch? Just seems to have appeared after he's had his tongue tie done and since I've had a lactation consultant out so don't know if it says he might not be latching properly or if it's just coincidence? TIA

It's probably a callus. Both of mine had them on their top lip.

Yes, its a blister, it doesn't bother them and does not imply an incorrect latch. Don't worry about it. My dd1 had one, I can't even remember if dd2 did.

Yup normal.

Will go away on its own.

Can get checked by HCP if worried

Friend dd had this we thought blister turned out to be strawberry birth mark, she had it until she was snout 5/6 I didn't really notice when it actually disappeared though as I just just used to it

I understand. The first two weeks of feeding my first dc was literally toe curlingly painful. Absolutely nothing wrong with using formula but I'm so bloody proud of myself that I kept going. And so should you.

My son (12 weeks) used to get them a lot, he's also tongue tied but luckily he's breastfeeding well. Smile

As pp have said, normal. You can help it heal quicker by rubbing any leaky milk over the blister as baby feeds. A little dab of lanisol won’t hurt either - for either of you.
Congratulations and keep going, you’re doing a great job.
