Worried about DS's weight and height

DH in particular is still worried.

DS is 8 months. He's been crawling for months and furniture cruising for 2 months, stands unaided (tires to step but falls on bottom), says "mama" and "dada", etc etc

But he's so small. He's on one of the lowest centiles there is, but was 7lb 8 when born.

I have 0 concerns as his Mum and neither does any of the health professionals I've seen. But I don't know how to put DH's mind at ease.

He's 6'3 himself, and was a chunky baby. As were all the babies on his side really. My nephew of a similar age is on the 98th centile. His brother is on the 99th.

Our DS is still in 0-3 clothes and looks quite comical standing proud as punch Blush

But still, DH isn't happy, I can tell he still isn't.

He works in London all week so no chance of him chatty to a health visitor or something to ease his concerns.

But the pressure of me needing to 'bulk him up' seems to always be lingering.

He is still on the breast a lot but this doesn't replace meals.

His cousins are also breast fed and they're bulldozers so I don't think it's related.

Does your baby have proper food? He really should be having breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks.

Can he book half a day annual leave and take him to the GP for a chat to set his mind at rest

He does have set meals, but isn't overly keen on snacks etc at the moment because of the heat

Otherwise he eats everything given to him

Lupi also, I'm sure I've read somewhere that constant snacking from babyhood isn't actually good

But none the less, he does eat fruit snacks, avocados, carrot sticks etc

Some babies are just tiny, that’s how they are. My first was on 9th centile as a baby and toddler. That’s despite both of us being tall. I’m 5’9 and dh is 6’5. She’s in primary school now and 20th centile and healthy, always eaten great. There’s nothing wrong with her. That’s just how she’s built. Incidentally, our 2nd is closer to 80/90th centile and in 6-9 months clothes from 3 months. They’re all just different.

I had giant babies - tall and heavy. By sister’s children were feather light in comparison. Our boys are now teens (1 year apart ) both as tall and broad as each other. They develop at their own pace.
