Portion sizes at 15 months

A little bit of background. DD was 2nd percentile for weight until around 8 months and now at 15 months is heading towards the 25th centile line.

She eats really well and likes everything I give her (apart from, weirdly, carrots!) but has allergies to dairy and egg.

My question is, how much food should a 15 month old be having?

For example, yesterday she had:

Breastfeed on waking

Breakfast: A handful of diced mango then 1.5 Weetabix with Oatly milk (She always has fortified cereal for breakfast to help her calcium intake. Most days its Ready Brek making a portion as per the instructions on the pack (is this an adult portion!?) but made using Oatly)

10:30 snack: 3 mini rice cakes and half a digestive biscuit (the latter is for the 'milk ladder' - introducing tiny amounts of dairy in baked products)

Lunch: Half a salmon fillet, two new potatoes, a floret of broccoli and two spears of asparagus. Four grapes (cut up) for pudding

Short BF before nap

4pm snack: 3 mini breadsticks and half an apple

Dinner: slice of homemade light wholemeal toast with mashed avocado and cherry tomatoes. Half a coconut yoghurt pot for pudding

BF before bed

On every one of those meals/snacks she would eat more if I gave her more even though I think she is eating good portion sizes (I looked after a 3 year old for a year who ate similar amounts). Does she just not have a 'stop' signal and therefore I need to regulate for her, or should I be giving her more because she would eat more given the chance?

At this age they eat what they need to, self regulating so if she is still hungry, give her more

Three year olds aren't growing/ developing as rapidly and often have got fussy so eat less. Certainly true with my nephews

Thanks arbrighton

I'll give her a go at self regulating and see what happens!

That’s sounds fine, I’ve learnt at this age they eat when they’re hungry. Ds is 16 months and will eat the following per day:

Breakfast: cup of milk and bowl of porridge or 1.5 weetabix and fruit or 1 slice of toast with scrambled egg (1 egg) or a vegetable omelette.

Snack: something like banana and rice cakes or yoghurt and fruit etc

Lunch: something like fish in butter sauce (half a fillet) with potatoes (about 2 ozs) and vegetables (one floret of broccoli tablespoon of carrot and swede (I’d say about a 6-7 oz size meal)
Followed by one large fruit yoghurt

Dinner: 4oz bolognaise or chilli with tablespoon of rice or pasta and 1-2 oz sweet potatoes and cheese.
Followed by custard and fruit

Cup of milk for supper if hasn’t had it with dinner.
