My baby is 5 months. Don't have a routine as such during the daytime as he naps at different times and for different lengths day to day.

Feeding is roughly 4 hourly as he is no longer breastfeeding.

However, he has a bath at about 7.00pm each evening followed by milk and then bed once he starts to show signs of tiredness.

What routine do you have foxy?

hello
everyday is slightly different generally:-

wake up any time between 7.00-7.30 then feed,
get dressed, play etc
10.30 -10.45 feed
anytime between 11 to 1 he will sleep for approx 45 mins
2pm feed
5.00pm sleep
5.45 feed
bath 7pm every other day as he has dry skin.
at the moment h seems to be awake alot in the evenings and does not want to go to sleep so we have him downstairs with us in his bouncer chair, then when he looks sleepy i take him upstairs but this can be 9 pm sometimes.
feed 10.30
sonetimes he wakes in night around 4, other times h e sleeps through.

how much sleep do yours have during day?

thank you

I don't have a precise routine (my daughter must be a similar age, born 24 Jan) but just time when she wakes so that I know to encourage her to nap just under 2 hours later. And in between we play, and then I feed her when she's hungry!

GlassSlipper · 01/06/2007 08:31

btw, my 'routine' isnt that precise I just happened to make a note of her wake times the day before as i wanted to know how much she was sleeping

My ds seems to sleep a lot during the day, between two and a half and three and a half hours altogether. Also, he always needs a sleep about an hour and a half after waking in the morning which I find really strange!

AS far as sleeping at night is concerned sometimes he sleeps through, other times he doesnt, but he doesnt have milk in the night now. Usually popping the dummy back in his mouth or giving him a cuddle sends him back to sleep, although sometimes I have to resort to taking him to bed with me. (Its the middle of the night, I need my sleep!!)

Am interested to hear about other babies of similar ages.

My dd is 5 and a bit months. We kind of have a pattern rather than a routine.

6ish - get up, play (make coffee aargh)
6:30 - milk
7:30-9ish - sleep. Get dressed.
9:30 milk then usually go out for whatever reason/ invent a reason.
11ish - water/ juice (constipation issues)
12:30-1ish - milk then sleep. Variable length. Play.
4ish - milk. Sometimes sleep.
6ish bathtime
6:30 milk
7ish bedtime.
Usually feeds around 9-10pm, 12-1am, 3-4am.

Hi

My DS is just over 4.5 months and we have roughly the following routine, ( he was also born on the 24th Jan 2007)

6am-6.30ish wake up

8ish feed

8.30 sleep for usually an hour

11ish feed

depends on what we are doing depends on how much sleep he gets

2ish feed

Play inbetween all of this

5ish feed

6pm bedtime routine as he can be a right moaner if he is not tucked up in bed by 6.30 and it isnt worth the hastle.

and then we dream feed at 10.30 and he wakes at about 4am for another bottle
