Hi all, what’s your opinions on amber teething anklets? If you recommend where did you purchase them from? I’m thinking about getting one for my lo, however not sure where to purchase from. Thanks

I buried a potato under a willow during a full moon, it had about as much effect as amber teething things.

Sorry!

They do nothing for the child. Save you money.

There was a thread on this quite recently here. There’s no evidence that they work and they are a choking risk. I wouldn’t.

bruffin · 24/07/2018 09:47

There is no scientific mechanism for amber to help with teething. All babies teeth differently, my dd cut 4 teeth without us noticing,
They are dangerous as well, what idiot puts beads that can be swallowed on a baby

It’s utter quackery. Don’t waste your money.

mrsoutnumbered · 24/07/2018 14:55

I wouldn't bother. I wasted my money on an anklet and they make no difference. As pps have said there's no scientific evidence that they do anything.

welshweasel · 24/07/2018 14:59

Nothing but a choking risk. Don’t do it.

NonaGrey · 24/07/2018 15:00

They are an incredible choking hazard. Don’t do it.

How could strapping some lumps of plastic made to look like amber fossilised pine resin round your baby's ankle help with teething?

Now go and buy a bottle of calpol and have done with it Smile

Jillyjollyjandy · 24/07/2018 15:08

Yes to calpol.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 24/07/2018 15:15

I think that they look cute and initially assumed that the baby chomped on them for teething (which they probably do but aren't supposed to).

DS gnawed on a freebie teether from Boots and camomile granules when he was yelling. We called it 'baby crack' as it must be very tasty and he loved it - cheered him up immediately.

Lana1234 · 24/07/2018 18:59

Did absolutely nothing for my DS then once he started chewing everything I got rid of it. Could have easily snapped and the beads gone everywhere including his mouth. Ashton and parsons, bonjela and calpol for my 10mo. He really struggles with it but he does already have 9 through ouch Blush
