How do I get my daughter anything with no money?

I'm in such a tough position.
I gave birth to DD2 a week ago, and recently my partner lost his job and managed to find another within 2 weeks. However, financially we're behind on bills, we have final demand letters and everything is just a complete mess. My DD1 is 4 next Saturday and I haven't even managed to buy her a single present, let alone afford to do anything during the day. As a mother you want to give your children everything and it's breaking my heart.
Does anybody have any suggestions what I can do that's inexpensive please?

I have two daughters aged 7 and 2, and have lived on or below the poverty line for 8 years. Neither girl has ever had new clothes, shoes or toys. eBay is great for clothes - sparkly tops and party type things. Gumtree often have freebies like bikes. For older daughter's 6th birthday, I organised a Peter Pan party in the local wood. Did a treasure hunt hiding chocolate coins around a clearing, had a campfire with marshmallows, hung up a piñata and did tug of war. The rest of the time, the kids entertained themselves den building and playing. Total cost for 20 kids was about 20 quid and everyone had an absolute blast. Her Christmas present last year was an old dolls house I found on Gumtree, which I repaired and painted up for her. Roller skates and other 'fad' things are often found really cheaply in charity shops, because kids grow out of them without ever really using them. My daughter had a brand new pair of pink Heelies that cost £2.50. I think the trick is to be very flexible and see the potential in things, rather than have a fixed idea and get stressed about being able to afford it.

DD had a party in the park one year and they all had a great time.
Painting rocks - have you seen the FB craze for this? See if there's one local - you paint rocks and hide them (message hide me or keep me on the back) and it's a major treasure hunt!! You could do a few birthday ones for her to find on you park visit! Oh look!! It has your name on it!
I'll send you a link to our local one for ideas
