Chickenpox scar

Hello, can anyone advise? My 2 year old son ended up with Chickenpox before he has his vaccination which I was gutted about. It wasn't a very bad case and we got through it fairly well. Now the scabs has fallen off, his face is covered with some dented marks. 2 on his temple, 2 small ones in his eyebrow and one on the end of his chin which he did knock (it was hard not to). In fact he has one on the top of his head but his hair covers this. These dents are red at the moment and I know this redness will fade but anyone's little ones had small dents and have they recovered or faded? He does have some on his body which I am smothering in 'Egyptian Magic Cream' (was recommended) and I have now ordered some rosehip oil and vitamin e oil to use. On his face I have been using Solutions for scars (which has very good reviews) to hopefully breakdown the scar tissue. I have only been using this for 2 days so not expecting results yet (they say up to 2 weeks). I know its really daft but I have really upset myself about this and feel guilty for not getting his vaccination done on time (I vaccinated his older sister) as I never wanted him to get it (typically he did). Can anyone give me a little comfort that they will look better with time and I know he is only 2 so plently of growing and healing to do. Thank you x

Also we are going on holiday on the 10th Aug - do I just smother him in SPF50 (as I usually do) or should he constantly wear a coverup and hat through out the whole holiday. I believe that the sun can cause further damage to new scars x

I have a dent in my forehead from a chicken pox scab and I'm 30 so it might not fade (mine is gradually being hidden by wrinkles though Confused). My daughter has one on her temple that hasn't changed for the last year or so (she is 3.5, had the pox at 18months). Sorry If that's not what you were hoping to hear but honestly I don't think anyone else particularly notices.

Thankyou OtherUsername I know from reading other threads that people just don't seem to notice them. To be honest I have one from childhood which apparently I picked in the middle of my head, you cannot see it at all but its there if I look for it in certain lights. I think I'm just being oversensitive at the moment as the scars are new and I just feel so sorry for him. He has beautiful skin, blonde hair and blue eyes and i think its just the guilt of not getting his vaccination done sooner thats the worst part for me to deal with. Luckily they are also on his temple and his eyebrows when he's older will hide the small ones. Thank you x

Sorry no experience with my child but I have a chicken pox scar on my cheek- never bothers me. I can’t believe I only scratched one so the others must have faded.

My daughter has a huge one right in the middle of her forehead. It's getting less deep but I think it will always be there to some extent.
