Tummy bug/teething??

My 10 month old is on/off screaming looking like she’s in pain (when not screaming she will play happily) she’s had some mucus/mustard poos which are totally different to her normal poo. At what point do I take her to the drs? Would teething cause mucus mustard poo? She seems to have her fingers in her mouth a lot as well. My gut feeling is it’s a tummy bug, so just wondering how I can help her with it and if/when I need to take her to the drs.

Does she have a temperature OP and have you tried her with a dose of paracetamol?

I haven’t checked (she’s asleep now) but she didn’t seem overly warm, I did give her some calpol though as it seemed to bother her this afternoon.

She’s literally not stopped pooing all afternoon so I’m guessing its a tummy bug. I’ve been making sure she’s had some water and she’s had wet nappies. She’s not a tiny baby so I’m sure she will be fine, I just never know how long to leave these things?

I think as long as she’s hydrated and her temperature isn’t too warm, you don’t need to bother the GP for a few days.

Agree with PP-the key thing is lots of wet nappies and not a dangerously high temp. If she has the energy to cry and chew stuff she’s most likely ok. As an aside I never found Calpol much good for teething-liquid anbesol (available in boots over the counter) on a cotton bud and applied to red areas on gums worked much better.

If a bug and she’s dehydrated/off her food then offer more bottles or breast milk as well as water.

Also bland food like toast, pasta, bananas etc.

When my kids have had this the worst part has been the nappy rash, so be aware of that! Good luck

Thanks for the advice all.

She’s still got diarrhoea today but is better within herself. No temp and she seems dehydrated. What would you put with rice for a meal? (As I’ve read that helps) I was thinking curry but don’t think that will help!!

She DOESNT seem dehydrated! Whoops!

At 10 months with a dodgy tum, to be honest I’d prob just give the rice plain. Maybe with a bit of chicken or ham and a few veg if you think they need more food/variety. Just think what you want to eat after a stomach bug, it’s usually bland things
