Sweating baby.

8 month old is constantly hot to touch, red in the face and will sweat instantly with any contact. Bed covers end up completely drenched every night. Car seat is regularly soaking wet after a short trip. She's so warm that it is uncomfortable to cuddle or sit with her. The kicker is... She has no temp. She averages in at 36-36.5.

Its hot in the UK right now so all the problems are worse now than before but were there before the heatwave.

Any ideas?

Mine is exactly the same. BF and bedsharing are 'delightful'

Having the same with my 10 month old twins, although one sweats a lot more than the other! We've been running their bath to about 34 degrees instead of 37 and that seems to help. We also put the fan in front of their open bedroom window for an hour or so before bed then shut the window but leave the fan on. They're going to sleep in just nappies at the moment and when I check on them before I go to sleep they've normally cooled down a bit. It's horrible seeing the gro egg all angry! Their room has been 29c for at least 2 weeks now ☹️ in the daytime I just let them run around at home in just their nappies with a fan on in the lounge and in the car make sure the air con is on full whack. Also giving them plenty of water throughout the day to make sure they're hydrated. It's hard, there's not a massive amount to be done really.

So could it just be a baby thing to run warm? People keep saying to me 'oh someone is too hot' and I'm beginning to feel a little judged.. I literally can not cool her off. She toddles about in nothing but a nappy 90% of the day.

My daughter has a 7 1/2 month old and she sweats profusely when we hold her or she sleeps. As for the buggy the other day when we pulled her out...her back and the buggy were soaked.
I’ve put it down to the hot weather and teething as she is also not running a temperature. Also I was told that it’s fairly normal as they still struggle slightly at this age to control their body temperature so are more likely to sweat to cool theirselves.

My DD, now 20, was a very sweaty baby and young child and grew into a stinky sweaty teenager! It all changed around age 14 though, thank goodness, as she hated being that way. I was always careful to encourage her to drink lots to replace lost fluids, all year round.

Yes, it's definitely made worse by the weather. Poor souls.

My 18 month old has always been like this

DS2 is 2 and has the stinkiest head! He's relatively sweaty but his scalp always smells really funky. I wish I knew how to make it smell more neutral...

Yeah I was sweaty as a kid, and had special deodorant as a teen but I grew out of it. I really hope DD doesn't have the same problem. I hated it.
