I know this has probably been done to death.... but what brand nappies do you lovely mummies use!?

We can see this thread is quite old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for sustainable nappies, we’ve recently updated our best reusable nappies page with plenty of great options tried and tested by Mumsnet parents. We hope you find it useful.

Out of the ones I have tried so far Lidls are my favourite. I have tried Lidl, Aldi, pampers and Morrisons

Reusable nappies; we used Bumgenius with my older 2 when they were babies (now 10 & 8) but this time we are using tots bots easy fit. Not used them much so far (baby is 11weeks) as it's been soooooo hot and they're obviously a lot more bulky and thick than disposable ones x

Have you considered speaking to a nappy library? There are over 120 up and down the UK. www.uknappynetwork.org/find-a-library.html

Many families end up having a mixed collection, after all, we don't wear exactly the same clothes every day so it makes sense to have different styles of nappies.

There is evidence that reusable nappies are cooler for baby than single use ones. This article links to the academic research www.babaandboo.com/blogs/news/reusable-nappies-don-t-make-your-baby-hotter

I like fleece lined aio or pockets
Charlie banana and blueberry deluxe have fitted ours best
Never any nappy rash nor any leaks
Miosolo, tots bots and bumgenius didn't last us until potty training at 20-23mths (n=3)

It really depends on the shape of your baby and that changed as they age.

We had little lamb bamboo for overnight but they come up quite small I found, and now ds is in motherease xl for overnight with an airflow wrap. Both these brands have always been bullet proof. They are a bit bulkier so sometimes he wears this combo during the day but we also have less bulky options.

We have little lamb pockets- cheap, slim fitting, able to get great cheap deals online- circa £4 per nappy. We had one Charlie banana- it was fine but at 4x the cost I didn’t think they were 4x better. We bought some miosolos from aldi (about half rrp) again they’re fine, dry quickly. However, as he’s changed shape and grown they go through phases of not fitting so well. We have some tots bots stars. They’re good and fit well but because of the stitching they can leak after a few hours/if he’s had a lot to drink.

I did originally have 3x close pop ins and really didn’t like them as the fit wasn’t the best. Sold all of them bar one which didn’t sell as was a boring colour- now I love it. It’s the only one that will last overnight without leaking that isn’t a two parter.

Have a look at your council website. A lot of them do schemes for money off or intro packs. The council sent us 2 tots boys stars, 3x close pop ins and the tots boys stretchy.

Try the nappy lady. She's ace and I always used to my cloth from there.

Wendy will do you a personal recommendation after you fill in the questionnaire. There's science behind it like how tall you and the babies dad is what your body shape is, breast or bottle etc etc. You can then choose to test drive some that you will like.

I agree with Jim. The Nappy Lady is amazing. There is also a lot of information on her website about cloth nappies. There is a Nappy Lady facebook group for support and one for buying and selling preloved nappies.

Sorry, didn't answer your question! We use terry nappies with motherease airflow wraps (with fleece liners and then cotton boosters for nighttime). I've also just bought some bamboozle stretch's to go under the airflow wraps instead of terries and I'm loving them so far.

I use Littles & Bloomz with bamboo boosters which work best for my 12mo, I’ve recently been given a close pop in and really like that too. Although the latter are 4x the price of L&B...
