No garden, what to do with in the summer?

DD is 2 and we live in a first floor flat was no garden. Mum and baby groups will be ending soon due to summer holidays, I am pulling my hair out trying to find things for her to do. We go to the park a lot, but I worry she's getting bored of it. We don't drive either so we are limited on things to do. She is very outdoorsy and wants to be outside constantly in this sunshine which makes me feel incredibly guilty.

Woodland, petting farm, water area? Most Childrens centres have a holiday programme

No garden here - not feeling guilty either! Is there another park or a beach you can take her to on the train? Local swimming pool?

If you’ve got a park, what is she really missing out on? Maybe organise a few park based play dates - I’m sure there are other parents desperate about looming holidays

Get a bike with a bike seat and explore more parks (and museums and swimming pools and the cinema). I used google maps and found parks that I didn't know about in my area!

A lot of the time at the park is fine, equivalent to being in the garden.

Woods are great for dens and 'fires' etc.

Maybe try to get some of numbers of other mums this week to arrange meet ups.

Ball and local park. Nature walk (focus on plants and bugs, maybe take a tub so you could collect flowers, leaves etc then she can play with them later). Painting? (Mine loves anything messy).

We do treasure hunts - go for a walk with a little bucket and see what treasure we can find (leaves, flowers, feathers, etc).

They don't get bored of the same park at 2 🙂

What about;

• Rotating around a few different parks (mine are 3 and 4, and we rotate between 4 parks, each of them affectionately named by their favourite feature)
• National Trust? Always loads to do there like trails/quizzes over the holidays
• Day trip to a far away 'new' park
• Farm, petting zoo etc
• Garden centre - some are awesome for kids! My kids like the water features and animal statues. Some have activities over the holidays
