Night-time Wraps - Any suggestions?

Oh no, DS has worked out how to undo the velcro on his tots bots wraps! I found him sat stark naked in bed yesterday having wee'd all over the place

I need a wrap (Tots size 3 equivalent probably) to accomodate DS' big night nappy plus boosters. Obviously it would need to be a popper wrap, we usually use fleece but are open to suggestions.

Do stacinator do an XL size fleece wrap?

disana wool

I haven't yet been brave enough to try wool out - how do you look after them? Do they have to be treated really carefully? I would probably shrink them

Woooooooooooooooooooooool

If you want PUL though I would say Motherease XL or Rebs XXL

Washersaurus · 27/05/2007 11:08

Hmm not really a big fan of using PUL at night - have always used fleece until now.

Woollywraps are machine washable on a wool cycle.

Soak them overnight in lanolin (you can either buy a ready made solution or I can give you very step by step instructions if you buy solid lanolin).

Let them dry, then use them each night, air them during the day in between.

If not soiled, don't wash them until they start to retain a smell after airing.

When they do start to retain a smell, bung em in the machine on a wool cycle with a squirt of baby shampoo.

Resoak in lanolin.

You resoak after each wash for the first 3-4 washes, after that just do it once a month or so.

Dry away from direct heat.

Easy and less washing than other wraps!

Ah, was thinking you meant PUL tots - bumsnugglers do gorgeous fleece wraps (double layer so really good) that popper.

nappyzone · 27/05/2007 19:45

how about a fleece wrap thats not aplix - just had a looked at my wacky wrap stash and they are poppers. They are very large and baggy and darn cute but dont suppose thats an issue at bedtime!

Flame · 27/05/2007 20:39

But they have a waterproof inner layer, so not the fleecey breathey goodness.

nappyzone · 27/05/2007 20:45

ahhh of course- darn foiled again!

Washersaurus · 27/05/2007 20:56

Hmmm, I'm still pondering on a wool wrap, but don't think longies/shorties will work as they just pull up don't they? DS would have those off in no time .

I might have to revert back to grobags until this phase passes if I can't find wrap that stays on him!

You can get them with a drawstring at the waist - tie it up tight enough for him to not get it over the nappy Woollywraps do side popper ones too, but they might be wriggleable outable of still

sparkymummy · 27/05/2007 21:06

Sorry to hijack but Flame, where can you buy solid lanolin? Have just made a wool soaker and need to treat it before its first wearing!

Flame · 27/05/2007 21:21

[www.underthegooseberrybush.co.uk] I think its free P&P too

Flame · 27/05/2007 21:21

www.underthegooseberrybush.co.uk even

Thanks Flame, nice looking site for shopping!!! Just off to have a proper look!

Washersaurus · 28/05/2007 20:23

Thanks for all the advice, I am trying out a stacinator fleece wrap tonight but am not 100% convinced that it will stay on him as he was pushing it down before I even got him into bed.

Maybe I can persuade my mum to knit something with a drawstring waist for him to wear .

What about a large popper vest? Large enough not to press on the wrap, but the poppers will keep it all contained.

Washersaurus · 29/05/2007 20:01

Flame: Tonight I am trying your suggestion of the vest; only with a disposable nappy rather than my lovely fluffy washable nappies , as my 2nd new washing machine in 4 mths has just completely broken and no engineer is available until monday afternoon .
