Looking for some tips on removing the dreaded dummy!

My LO is forcing the whole thing in her mouth which is slightly worrying, and I look at the 12 months dummies and they look so huge and I’m worrying about her teeth.

So I’m looking for tips on taking away the dummy. She only has it for naps and she absolutely loves it! Would you take it away cold turkey or would you stop for the day naps and then eventually the night?

I'd just get rid. It will take a couple of days but then it'll be forgotten.
They won't understand why they can't have it for one nap and not another.
If you decide to take it away stick too it. If you give in they learn to make a fuss to get what they want. It will also prolong the upset and confuse them.

I am a dummy fan. I wouldn’t bother taking it away yet. My 2.5 year old just has hers for naps.

At 10 months though you’ll have to go cold turkey because he won’t understand complicated rules

I took DDs away at 13 months and just went cold turkey. Never looked back. Just throw them out so you aren't tempted. Only took DD 2 days to realise. Good luck

Ds2 started losing and spitting his out at 10mo. It was more trouble than it was worth so I gave them all away. (So I wouldn't be tempted). Cold turkey for both of you is best. It was a lifesaver with my incredibly sucky newborn and helped with developing a routine.
